Our history

Giuseppe Santoro and Piero Caramia deal with meats since 40 years. They started from the bottom, since they were small boys working in butcheries in their hometowns. Thanks to the experience gained over the years they got a thorough knowledge of the meat and the art of its transformation. Giuseppe comes from Cisternino, Piero comes from Martina Franca, so they have combined two similar but not identical traditions, taking the best from each. The Salumificio Santoro was founded in the year 2000 by Giuseppe, to realize his desire to devote himself to cold cut hams and sausages. Some years later Piero decide to join him and to bring with him his ability as producer of quality salami. Since then, day after day, their only goal is to improve the safeguarding of these typical products.

It is thanks to their constant desire to do, discover and rediscover authentic techniques, today Salumificio Santoro salami’s can be proudly called Excellence. The other members of the company are the daughters and sons of Piero e Giuseppe, who decided, from the earliest age, to be part in the family activities and join this wonderful world of quality, passion and above all people. That’s because our story is a real love story
